Fan World 2017 – Mystery Skulls & More!

Hi hi! This past weekend, I was at Niagara Falls for Fan World 2017!

Fan World is a relatively new convention, this is its 2nd year. There were reviews on its first year not being spectacular so I went in with relatively no expectations. It existed as a good opportunity to both participate in a lolita event & finally meet one of my good online friends in person and his boyfriend! On Friday, I was busy during the day preparing for the concert by packing my stuff. After work, my boyfriend & I headed up to catch Mystery Skulls in concert!

Mystery Skulls was absolutely fantastic! He had a lot of good energy and excitement! After the concert, I managed to run up to him and get his autograph! He also gave me a hug, truly a great night ;v;

Mystery Skulls, my boyfriend Bobby, and me after the Saturday Q&A

On Saturday, we drove back up to meet up with our group and check into the hotel. I changed into Lolita after participating in the Mystery Skulls Q&A, prepped for the fashion show, and consumed lots of Tropical Orange flavored ice cream omg

Before the weekend, I had a lot of trouble coming up with a coordinate. Since I’m a new lolita, I don’t have anything too over the top gorgeous just yet so I tried piecing something together to fit the “classic” aesthetic, since that is what the fashion show coordinator expressed interest in.

The reception to my outfit was shockingly positive! I kept getting stopped in the convention for my picture to be taken >< It was actually really embarrassing because I wasn’t expecting it haha.

On Sunday, we relaxed more, ate breakfast from Starbucks and spent most of my time in the Artist Alley & in the Tabletop Game room instead of at panels. We also had a great lunch in the nearby casino before parting ways!

The squad!

For the con, there were some ups & downs. At one point, I lost my wallet on Friday and the staff members recovered it safe & sound! It’s definitely a small con so there weren’t a lot of people. The benefit of this is no lines and no waiting but of course, less activity. The con was supposed to have events on the Canada side but I’m glad it didn’t, I think that would have been a bad idea considering. I’m not sure if I’ll attend again next year but I definitely had fun this weekend!
