Fashion Show!

Happy Easter!

This past week was a very very busy one but a fun one none the less!

I got to participate in a fashion show while in lolita!

My alma mater’s Asian Culture Society hosts a fashion show every year to showcase the different traditional & modern fashions of Asia. A lolita in my community asked if I could participate and I absolutely accepted!

I spent some time planning out my coordinate because I really wanted to both represent lolita well and finally push myself out of complete newbie territory. I really wanted to avoid mistakes like having mismatched colors, not wearing a petticoat, etc.

I had recently purchased Sleepless Masquerade in Navy by Alice and the Pirates so I thought it would the perfect opportunity.

Initially, I wanted to go in the direction of navy tights and white boots but after talking we my friend, decided to aim for ivory tights and gold heels. The lolita who invited me to participate let me borrow (and later buy ;u;) her navy wrist-cuffs! I also got a mask to continue the masquerade motif but ultimately did not end up wearing it.

I had to stay backstage for the fashion show but everyone was dressed so amazingly, I wish I had gotten pictures. My best friend took some pictures of me on-stage!

Blurry lolitas!

Ultimately, it was incredibly fun and I’m very happy that my outfit ended up working out so well!

  1. […] Essentially when I plan out lolita coordinates, I make a rough picture of all the pieces involved so I can preview what my coordiantes will look like before I make them. You can see previous examples of me doing this in the entry where I talk about the lolita fashion show I participated in. […]
