Tokyo Otaku Mode: Otaku Prize Spin Haul, ACDC Lucky Pack, & Review

Hi hi! Long post ahead! This week I talk about my recent haul with Tokyo Otaku Mode!
Tokyo Otaku Mode is a massive online seller of Japanese brand items, unique content creators, and anime merchandise & figures! I’ve ordered a lot in the past but thought I’d do a review of the website due to a recent promotion. Tokyo Otaku Mode has offered the “Otaku Prize Wheel.” Spinning this wheel allows you to enter an ongoing competition for a special prize, as well as qualify for a $3, $5, $10, $50, or $100 coupon that expires in 24 hours. After getting yet another $10 coupon, I took a gamble, shared the prize wheel on my twitter to get another chance at spinning, and actually won the $100 coupon!!!

With that special occasion in mind, I decided to place a large order. xD

Part of the reason I stopped ordering regularly from TOM was due to the changes they made on their shipping. Shipping is generally really expensive on the website so it’s really difficult to get more bang for your buck, especially when buying just one or two items. For $150 minimum, you can get free shipping but only under specific certain conditions otherwise you get a shipping discount and TOM points in return so I sprung for that option! With the $100 coupon, I had to put at least $250 worth of things in my cart. (Managed to hit it with just .97 cents over!)

The haul! Complete with shipping discount & TOM Point return!

Tom also recently started a Membership system with an Early Bird Price of $4.99. If you continue, you get special discounts on certain objects & a credit of TOM Points. I figured it couldn’t hurt to at least give it a try.

The SWIMMER biscuit bag has been on my second-tier wishlist for a while now. But it’s incredibly difficult to find secondhand in good condition for a reasonable price. I had been eyeing these FLAPPER biscuit bags on TOM since they’re really similar in design and since I recently found a SWIMMER biscuit bag in Strawberry (pink) on Yahoo Japan auctions, I decided to get the FLAPPER bags in the two SWIMMER colors I wouldn’t have (beige & camel)

I also opted for a smaller pass case in the Brown color to go with the pink SWIMMER biscuit bag as I’ve been planning a coordinate with the recently launched Cream Cookie Parade by Angelic Pretty!

Other choices include a cute Sentimental Circus tissue box cover and some Rilakkuma stationary & school supplies. I’ve started to enjoy writing letters so anything that’s stationary related is very appealing to me!

Lately, I’ve been purging my wardrobe so to speak, getting rid of everything I don’t absolutely love. As a result, I’ve made at least half a dozen trips to the local Goodwills and sent off many packages both for friends & buyers. With most of the excess gone, I’ve been looking to replenish my wardrobe with new things so I thought I’d get this Listen Flavor shirt I’ve been eyeing all summer (Listen Flavor is definitely my favorite everyday Japanese fashion brand) and to try out the ACDC RAG Lucky Pack since ACDC RAG seems to be getting more active on TOM’s website.

So this review will be broken up into two parts; The overall TOM haul and then specifically the ACDC RAG lucky pack! Let’s begin!

I placed my order on July 20th. It shipped on July 24th. I missed the original delivery on the 27th and got it delivered on the 28th.

Main TOM haul:

Very large box!

Normally with every TOM order, you get a free file folder featuring the art of a special artist. This month’s artist has beautiful artowrk. Can’t take my eyes off it.

Free File Folder

The thing I decided to open first was the Sentimental Circus Tissue Box Holder! It’s so large and fluffy!

Like a cute bright red pillow
The golden “dots” are shapes like bunny ears and hearts

The stationary set was very well packaged in its own plastic container. I love the colors, very soft pastel purples, pinks, and blues.

The stationary set is something else. On the website, it’s marked that it includes:

Memo pad
Pencil board
12-pack of 2B pencils
Eraser
Caps
Glue
Soft pen case

The memo pad has no lines so I think it’ll be great for drawing or practicing my Japanese writing. The pencil case is soooo soft! It comes with two sides for storing pencils and an internal pencil sharpener.

I also got some nice Sentimental Circus washi tape, a new pair of scissors, and a file folder with matching print.

Already in love with these scissors. I have a habit of misplacing my scissors but I can’t even imagine misplacing this cute pastel pink pair!

So sparkly & cute!

The file folder is really cute, it’s called Sweet Lolita by OTOE. I chose the blue version! I love her expression and can’t wait to find a good frame for it.

The file folder is partially see through and lovely.

Lookin’ coolllll

The stars of this order are definitely the Biscuit Bags though! Sturdy, well made, cute colors, cute shape! I’m glad I went with the decision to get Beige & Camel!

The Pass Case is very interesting in that it’s really firm & sturdy! I didn’t expect that at all, seems like it’d be great for holding pass or identification cards.

Brown Pass Case

And of course, the Listen Flavor shirt. This makes probably shirt number…10-ish of Listen Flavor shirts I have! I really dig the popcorn shark, it’s also apparently reversible!

Overall a great haul! I love the collection of everything. All very well packaged, with strong quality over all the brands I explored. The FLAPPER bags were the first FLAPPER items I’ve ever bought and with how pleased I am with the quality, they’re definitely going to be a foundation I turn to for lolita bags, especially with SWIMMER’s recent announcement that they’re closing.

Now for the moment of truth! The Lucky Pack!

ACDC RAG Lucky Pack:

I actually got the lucky pack sampled on the website! Came with everything shown and I don’t mind that at all because I actually really like the sample pack! There’s only one shirt I don’t like so a turn around of two shirts, two bottoms, and a belt isn’t bad for the price.

This is the shirt of the pack I don’t like, not a fan of a print

I’m completely in love with the skull print top! That and the unicorn skirt are great patterned- additions to my wardrobe!

The skirt is definitely a little short, I’d have to wear them with leggings or pants underneath because I’m just too tall. However, the waist has elastic so it’s very comfy to wear. Super bright and colorful with an adorable print! I’d love to wear it during the day-to-day or make a decora based coordinate with it.

Simple Blue Belt

But what I REALLY like the most are these pants! I love the heavy jogger style pants that have been getting more and more popular lately. I own a pair of black & white polka-dotted pants in a similar shape from listen Flavor and I’ve been itching to own another pair of these comfortable pants.

That’s it for this week! Whew! I hope you enjoyed both reviews! Winning the $100 coupon was definitely a stroke of dumb luck but I’m thankful for the nice additions to my desk/stationary life, daily wardrobe, and lolita wardrobe. Let me know what item you liked the most in the comments! Until next time!
