Vivienne Westwood Belmont Shopping Trip

Earlier this year in February, my best friends and I decided to take a trip to the Belmont Park Village, a large outlet mall in New York City that caters specifically to luxury brands. Marina had found out about the mall online and Anthea came down to NYC for the Harajuku Market, we decided to join the events together and have a full J-Fashion weekend!

Vivienne Westwood is iconic for Lolita Fashion, many of her designs compliment the alternative style of the fashion, especially her signature Rocking Horse Shoes that perfect the well-known lolita silhouette. An outlet shop is unique in that it typically carries retired/dead stock from a brand at a much lower cost than retail, this is especially true for luxury brands such as VW where pieces go up into the $1,000s. The 3 of us had never had the opportunity to shop directly in-person with the brand before (I had only ordered some things online that I’ll write about in the future) so we loved the opportunity to visit a lolita mecca with more affordable options!

The day we went was sooooooo cold. The day before was around 14° F but somehow it was even colder this day because all the buildings at the Park Village kept forming wind tunnels lol… So Anthea and I bundled up with our coats we pre-ordered together from Lief late last winter. There was a public bathroom that was by far the fanciest bathroom I had ever been in, we spent so much time just taking mirror selfies because the lighting and atmosphere were so good, it reminded us of the bathroom at Rufflecon!

After walking through a few other stores and having lunch, we decided to head to the Vivienne Westwood shop! It was amazing stepping in, the right side of the store had shoes and purses taking up the entire wall. There were a few clothing racks as well and right in the center was an amazing glass display case just filled with a variety of jewelry and their labelled prices. The staff were so friendly, especially the main attendant, he answered all of our questions and was so fun to talk to! (Shout out to Richard for the lovely first experience!)

After looking through everything, I decided to get 1 ring and 1 necklace. I wanted to get a ring in silver specifically for longevity and fell in love with the Brutus Ring in the Ruthenium colorway, it was only available in my size so I really lucked out! A large faux pearl necklace (pictured above) caught my eye but it was out of my budget unfortunately. I think about it often and hope it is still there when I take a trip back! Ultimately though, I fell in love with the Harlequin Orb Necklace, it has beautiful gemstones with enamel making up the diamond pattern. Anyone who knows me knows it’s perfectly my style in ways I couldn’t even describe.

Both pieces of jewelry came with their own boxes, dust bags, and care instructions.

Brutus Ring: $189.00 (without tax)

Harlequin Orb Necklace: $280.00 (without tax)

Overall, it was awesome finally getting to see pieces in-person from a fashion brand I truly admire. It was even more awesome getting to share that kind of precious memory with my friends. I hope one day I can make it out to Belmont and visit Vivienne Westwood again!

Here’s more pictures of the outfit I wore that day!
